There are many different ways to tune an engine once it has been converted over to an alcohol fuel injection system. The Power Commander is an excellent tool for air/fuel tuning. It interrupts the signal from the factory computer to the fuel injector and supplies a modified signal to the fuel injectors based on its internal “fuel map”, engine RPM and throttle position. The fuel map is programmed for maximum power while running the engine on a dynamometer. Simple component changes like air filters, exhaust, cam timing, ignition timing, etc. can lead to dramatic power losses if the system is not tuned for those changes.
